I hear the sea call to the moon,
I hear the moon murm'ring as she sails, "I cannot fail thee, Why dost thou fear me?" I hear the wind sing to the pine-tree, I hear the pine-tree whisp'ring as she sways, "I cannot fail thee, Why dost thou fear me?" I hear my heart cry to your heart I hear your heart beating 'gainst my own, "I cannot fail thee, Why dost thou fear me?" |

Date: 30 Mar 2023 Production: I scanned page 19 of Two in Arcadia, 1907 Brentanos, by Lucine Finch and redesigned each of the 6 color separations to facilitate printing and clarify the image. Using laserprints of each I coated blocks of unmounted linoleum [McClain's Printmaking Supplies] cut to size, with 10% mat gel medium / water and placed image face down. After drying thoroughly, I rubbed off the paper layer to preserve the carbon image. I cut each block and printed, one color per day until completed. $37.50 USD Shipping available USA $15.00 with tracking $750 MXN in the studio Page 19: 1907 overlay with 2024
First I delineated the moon as a complementary yellow instead of white, then darkened the sky in keeping with moonrise or moonset. I substituted trees more resembling those my father photographed in and around Lake Chelan, WA. I darkened the mountain and made the snowcap more reminiscent of Mt. Fuji in Japan. I changed the color of the foreground to better suggest a forest from a distance, and rendered the mid-ground a lighter tint of the sky. |
