Goldfish II
Goldfish [Scott #368: $0.48 used] was printed by lithography beginning 15 November 1946 until 1947 during the period when MacArthur was military governor of Japan. The design features two Ryukin goldfish swimming to the left.
The block for this print was first carved on 7 February 1997. Thirty-three prints were made with the 1997 block, then the block was discontinued. The present print was completely re-cut for this reissue, designated "Goldfish II" to differentiate it from the earlier, similar print. |
